The Health Insurance Fund confirmed the results of the selection of contractual partners for dental care

Last week, the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Fund confirmed the results of the selection contest of contractual partners for children's dental care and orthodontics in the cities of Tallinn, Tartu and Keila. The contract period of the new selection partners shall begin on 1 July 2015 and end on 30.06.2019.

In 2015, the Health Insurance Fund will reimburse the insured for children's dental care and orthodontics services to the extent of about 441 thousand treatment cases. Funding of the service is divided between the Hospital Network Development Plan and the selection partners.

The annual volume of the children's dental services brought through the selection is approximately 337 thousand treatment cases, and the annual volume of orthodontics services is about 44 thousand treatment cases.

The contractual volume of the selection partners for children's dental care in the second half of 2015, was planned on the basis of the selection of 168,455 treatment cases and the contractual volume of the selection partners of children’s orthodontia is about 20,589 treatment cases. The planned financial volume of the selection for the second half of the year 2015 is about 11 million euros.

An extension of the contract will be concluded with the partners with whom the contract of dentistry and orthodontics service expires, which ensures monetary compensation until the end of the year provided to the patients being on the waiting list or under treatment at those partners as of 30.06.2015. Therefore, none of the insured has to worry that the necessary treatment at the service provider not elected at the competition will be interrupted or does not take place at the agreed time. Henceforth, the insured can choose a suitable service provider from among the contractual partners of the Health Insurance Provider.
