The third development cooperation project of the Health Insurance Fund with Moldova was launched

The first visit took place in the framework of the new development cooperation project of the Health Insurance Fund lasting for the period of 2016-2018, which aims to support the development of Moldova's health insurance system. This is the third cooperation project in succession between the health insurance funds of Estonia and Moldova.

A visit took place from 3 to 8 October 2016 and during this period, the Health Insurance Fund hosted four colleagues from Moldova. The topic of the first training session was strategic purchasing. Among other areas, evaluation of the demand for health services, budgeting, planning of agreements, and payment methods was addressed. Health Insurance Fund experts introduced the key elements of the formation and development of the Estonian health insurance system based on best international practices, knowledge, and experience as well as providing practical examples.

The next study visit in the framework of the project is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2017. The project will include a total of five study sessions. The development cooperation is funded by the development and humanitarian aid funds of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
