Beneficiaries of the allowance for the carer of a person with a disability

A person who is receiving carer’s allowance and for whom the rural municipality or city pays social tax is entitled to health insurance. The data is submitted by the rural municipality or city government via the Social Insurance Board.

Additional information can be found from section 26 of the Social Welfare Act and inquired from the rural municipality or city government.

Insurance will commence upon making the entry into the health insurance database.

Insurance terminates one month after the end of the state's obligation to pay social tax.

You can check the validity of your health insurance in the service ‘My current account with the Health Insurance Fund’ of the state portal eesti.ee, by phoning the Health Insurance Fund’s customer service (+372) 669 6630.
